Happy 2nd Birthday William

Happy Birthday William!! We love you so much!! You make us laugh everyday. Will does so many funny things that I can not even write them all down. You love your big brother Jake so much and follow him around all day everyday. You want to do, say, and play with everything that he does. You love to play outside, dig in the dirt, water flowers, cut the grass, play with your shape sorter, make messes, puzzles, and anything small that you can tinker with. Will is such a thinker. He really analyzes everything. We love how slow you talk, but you talk so good for your age. You use complete sentences and can say anything you want. You do not ever get in a hurry and you absolutely love the water and taking baths with your big brother. You never miss a nap and always go to sleep about 7:30 or so and sleep through the night. However, you are such an early riser!!! We love you William Evan and so glad you are a part of our family. We don't know what we ever did with you!!!

Here are some pictures from Will's birthday parties. Yes, he had Two for his 2nd birthday!! We had a party at Papa's and Nanny's house and then one with Gaga and her family over at Aunt Janet's house!! Thank you everyone for making this such a special birthday for Will!!!

Water Fountain

We took the kids to the water fountains near our house today!! They had so much fun running around trying to see which one was going to squirt them in the face next. We laughed until I was almost crying at them.

Bobby's sister, LauraAnn, was also with us on the adventure. She came for the night to visit with us and the kids (mainly the kids :o ). We enjoyed getting to spend some time with her!!

The weather sure is getting hot around here. The water was a great way to make the kids tired and keep them cool all at the same time. Am I a great mom or what??? :)

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

We have been enjoying taking the boys out on the boat in the bay. The water is usually pretty calm and the weather is beautiful. Bobby and I pack food, drinks, lifejackets, sunscreen, and the boys and we head out for a day of fun!!! Jake loves to jump in the water to Bobby from the boat, but Will is not so sure. He stays in the boat with mommy. The water is too cold for him. He is such a mommy's boy!!! Jake will jump in the water all by himself even if bobby has not gotten in yet. We had to warn him that it could be dangerous for him if he keeps doing that and he needs to wait for an adult to get in the water first!!! The boys love to ride in the cabin while we drive to different spots to fish!!! We love living by the water!!

Feeding the Seagulls

The boys and I went to the bay and wanted to feed the ducks but they tried to attack us. So, instead I let them throw the bread to the seagulls. It was alot of fun. Will wanted them to eat it out of his hands. Jake was not so sure about everything!! It was fun.... there were so many birds everywhere!!

I'll Mop Another Day

"I'll Mop Another Day"

My kitchen floor is a mess. I swear the house was clean when we put him to bed, how can one two-year-old touch so many things in the first four hours of daylight? Books scattered throughout the house, Buzz and Woody in his shopping cart, Cheerios under the table and sippy cups hidden behind the recliner. I look down at my five month belly and wonder how I will ever find another moment of clean peace and quiet.

Jolly little hand prints mark up Daddy’s big screen as well as my newly painted hallway. What idiot said flat paint hides everything? My toothbrush is now community property; there is no safe place he can’t find it. I’ve rediscovered my jewelry collection in trails of a different life hidden like treasures throughout the upstairs. A rhinestone earring here, a beautiful no-longer-neglected bracelet there. Where does his energy come from?

Another fifteen minutes and he can go down for a nap. Maybe Barney can entertain him for the second time today and give me an early start on my chore list. I sit him on the couch, and to his squeals of utter delight turn on the purple giant. Walking into the kitchen I look down at my sticky floor. Between the juice and the yogurt, this floor seems to be my nemesis. I round the corner into the utility room and reach for the mop and a bucket. As I turn back, light from the little window above the sink illuminates a small spot of floor in front of the refrigerator and I freeze.

Two little footprints stop me in my tracks. Illuminated in the sunshine and emblazoned on the kitchen floor, they’re like angel whispers touching my heart. I suddenly realize how fast those little feet are growing. He didn’t fit into his church shoes this week. Three years has been a heartbeat, my precious babies are going to be a big brother and then a cub scout and then somebody’s prom date and finally, he’ll be gone from my arms, gone from my kitchen floor. My throat tightens and I set the broom back in its corner. Quietly, I head to the living room, scoop my angel into my arms, smell his hair and kiss his sticky hand. We snuggle up with his blanket and together, gratefully, watch Barney.

I’ll mop another day.

Road Trip

The boys and I took a road trip to Atlanta this past weekend. It was so nice to see our family!! We miss them so much. It was also great to have an extra set of hands to help out with the kids. Thanks everyone!! We got to see everyone (which is alot of people b/c my family is huge!!). We also celebrated an early bday for Will. He had two parties while we were up there. My dad and stepmom gave him a party on Friday night and Sunday after church my mom's family celebrated his birthday!! You guys are the best. We love you so much and wish we were closer and got to spend more time with you!!! :)
