Easter 2008

We took the boys to an Easter Egg Hunt at the church on Saturday morning. They read the Easter story to the kids and then off we went to find some eggs. It was fun and the weather was beautiful.

On Sunday we went to early church and fixed lunch. It was a peaceful day!!! Jake kept wanting me to hide the eggs again in the backyard so he could find them. We did that about 10 times. Will was not very interested in picking up the eggs just taking Jake's eggs out of his basket. This did not make big brother happy!!

Here are some pictures of the kids in their sunday easter outfits and the easter egg hunt. Could not get them to look at the camera at the same time.

Picture Day

I decided that I had waited long enough to get the boys pictures taken together by a photographer. I was all prepared... they took naps, I made a late appointment in the afternoon, I brought juice and snacks, and picked out matching outfits. Everything was good to go EXCEPT... JAKE AND WILL. They were not happy about smiling for some goofy guy holding a stuffed cat. He kept trying to make them laugh and they just stared at him. Our session that was supposed to last 30 minutes ended up lasting two hours. We all were very ready to leave by that point. However, all things said the pictures turned out really cute and I am happy with them. I ordered tons of pictures so I will not have to put my self through this again at least until baby #3 is a toddler. I will only bring one child at a time until that time arrives.

Anywhere But Here

This was the scene in my laundry room yesterday afternoon. A sight to behold. Something I haven't seen in three years, three months and 13 days. But who's keeping track. Empty laundry baskets, my friends. That's right. All, and I mean ALL the laundry was done. As I stood there wiping the tears from my eyes and reveling in my overhwhelming sense of accomplishment, Bobby burst in the door and tossed his running clothes in the hamper.

"Oh I don't THINK so, pal," I said as I tossed them back at him.

"What are you talking about? They're dirty." And he threw them back in the nice, clean and empty basket.

"Not today they're not." And I kicked them back out.

"Have you lost your mind? What am I supposed to do with them?"

"Put them back on. The laundry room is c-l-o-s-e-d." And with that I walked out, turned out the light, shut the door and savored my job being done.

For at least 4 minutes.

To the Zoo

We met my friend Julie and her little boy Jacob at the zoo over the weekend. It was a small zoo about 30 minutes from Mayberry. They had alligators, a reptile house (which I did not step foot in), tigers, monkeys, bird house, and every other animal imaginable that can tolerate this warm climate.

We went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch and then headed down towards the zoo. Will fell asleep in the car and I just transfered him to the stroller and he slept almost the entire time. This made is much easier on me. Jake and Jacob had so much fun feeding the animals and running ahead of us moms saying, "wow, look, wow.""

We saw the tigers fighting with one another. That was really neat. Now Jake thinks that there are tigers in our backyard at night!!!

The trip to the zoo went smooth until we were about to leave for the day. We saw a lady with an 8 month old baby monkey!! I was holding Will and Jake was standing right by us with the entire stroller. Sudddenly, the monkey jumps from the lady's shoulders to our stroller and onto Jake's back. It then proceeds to jump on Jake's head and pull his hair. Jake started screaming and saying, "help, get the monkey, get the monkey."

I could not do anything except laugh myself. I was too scared of the monkey to actually help my poor baby. The lady came and got the monkey off of jake and he grabbed my arm and ran to the exit. He is in no hurry to go back to the zoo.

He keeps telling everybody, "that monkey jumped my back and pulled my hair."

I told bobby if I had my video camera we could have won some money on America's Home Funniest Videos for that moment!!!

VIsit from Nanny and Papa

It was been a while since I have been blogging. We have had a very busy couple of weeks!! Bobby and I went to the Beau Rivage for his work convention a few weeks ago ALL BY OURSELVES!! Yes, you read it right we went without the kids. Nanny and Papa came down for 5 days and kept the boys for us. When we got back they even stayed for a few extra days to help us out. It was a blessing. We miss them already. It is so fun when you have family down to visit and help out!! They had a blast playing with the boys. I am still trying to figure out who was more tired by Sunday the kids or the grandparents?? Here are some pictures of the week with Papa and Nanny!!! Thanks so much for coming!! We love you!!

Chef Jake

Jake has really enjoyed helping me in the kitchen these days. The other weekend Bobby went out of town fishing with my cousin so the boys and I decided to stay home on friday night and make a pizza. Jake completely took over and had so much fun.

Jake was saying, "this pizza is soooo good. I made it all by myself."

Will was standing by Jake just taking it all in. He wasn't so sure of the pizza and the whole process of making if from scratch. All he usually knows is how to go to the door when pizza guy rings the door bell.

A good night was had by all and we really enjoyed Jake's pizza. Maybe he will be the next Papa Jake and make us all money one day!!
