We are Back

We have been very busy the past week and a half. The boys and I went to Atlanta to visit my family. We had so much fun!! Gaga, Pop, and Coley took us to the Aquarium on Friday. The boys absolutely loved it. The fish, whales, and other water creatures were beautiful. Jake kept saying, "I can't wait, I can't wait" when we were driving to the aquarium.

We got to see all of our friends and family, but the trip is never long enough. We have so much fun and stay on the go the entire time. Papa and Nanny bought the boys Snow Buddies the movie and they watched it on the DVD player the entire ride home. Wow... what a lifesaver that was for me!!

Here are some pics from the aquarium!!! Jake was like a human tornado the entire time we were there. He was going from fish tank to fish tank. It was great!!

Fun Day with Mommy

The boys and I went to feed the ducks, play in the sand, and to the park on Monday. It was so beautiful outside we all wanted to get out and enjoy it. I am so amazed by them each and every day at how fast they are growing and how fast they are learning and discovering the world around them. I love you Jake and Will!!!

Water Boy

It was a beautiful day outside so after naps I took the boys outside in the backyard to play. We had the power wheel charged, snacks outside, and they each had a sippy cup. I changed Will's diaper, jake went to the potty, and off we went. I opened the back door and let them go and play (yes, our backyard is fenced in). I went into the living room and was putting on my shoes when Jake ran inside and said,

"mama, will is in trouble."

I immediately hopped up and went to check on Will. I did not see him. Jake pointed me in the direction where he was on the side of the house. He was sitting chest deep in water in their kiddie pool while holding his sippy cup up in the air. He was laughing and splashing around in the freezing cold water.

I pulled him out of the pool in all his clothes, shoes, jacket, and sippy cup while he is kicking and screaming wanting to get back in the pool. I took his clothes and everything off and dried him off with a beach towel.

We changed clothes and needless to say I packed them up and took them to the park instead.

Come to find out the pool had been leaning against our house and while it was pouring down rain a few days ago the pool fell down and was filled to the top with water.

I am going to do a quick yard scan before I just let the boys run outside and play. Jake knew better and understood how cold the water was in the pool. Will on the other hand, didn't understand but really just didn't care. He was having the time of his life.

Big Shoes to Fill

Will has an addiction these days. It is to wear mommy and daddy's shoes. He likes to put his tiny feet in our shoes after we take them off and try to walk around the house. He goes at snail's pace, but he some how manages to walk. He say, "wook out momma, wook out." As he is walking towards me. I could probably take a cap nap before he got to me. It makes him a happy baby to wear our shoes so he can keep them on his feet as long as he wants to.

These babies never cease to amaze me.

How Much is that Baby in the Window?

For the past week or so Jake and Will have roomtime/quiet time in their playroom for one hour. I put the gate up and turn the tv off and they just play together (or fight together). At first I felt bad about doing this, but then I realized I am putting them in a room full of nothing but toys. That is pretty nice actually.

In this hour time span I get more stuff done than I do the entire rest of the day. I shower, put some laundry in, unload the dishwasher, make beds, etc. I am going full speed for an hour straight. It is so worth it though.

Yesterday, I put the kids in the play room for roomtime just as bobby was leaving to go to work. He told me bye gave me a kiss and was on his way. I was starting to unload the dishwasher when the phone rang. It was Bobby. I was curious what he could already need, but I answered it anyway.

He said, "um, you might want to peek in the playroom and look at Will." I could barely understand Bobby because he was laughing so hard.

I go and look in the playroom and Will has moved the blinds and is standing on the window sill with his face and his belly smushed against the window.

Bobby said it looked like he was saying, "help me, help me, she has locked us in here."

It was hilarious. I said,"Will" and he hopped down with a red nose and all.

So, if you drive by my house and you see a baby standing in the window sill don't think anything about it. We are just having roomtime and Will wants to escape.

The Perfect Day

It is hard to say that you have a perfect day when you are raising two toddlers. However, today has just been perfect in our little world. We got up (early of course) Bobby made breakfast, we went to church (our pastor had a great message), kids took naps, I went to a luncheon, and Bobby took the kids to a birthday party. Yes, all by himself. I met him there after my luncheon was over. We then came home and Bobby cooked dinner and we had a fire going while watching the playoff football game.

It seems like we have just spent such quality time together. We played with the kids and read books.

Days like today really make you realize just how blessed we are. I am going back in the living room to help Bobby clean up.

Life is GOOD!!!

Pajama Day

I have officially declared it a pajama day at our house. Bobby and I are the only ones who got dressed today. It has been raining and yucky all day long. The kids have not been out of their "jommies" as Jake calls them all day long. Tommorrow it is supposed to be cold again. Wish I could pull off another pajama day, but we have to go to church and a birthday party.

I am looking at the weather to see when it is supposed to rain again so we can have another pajama day with mom and dad included.
